Steven Pittsley

[originally published on November 3, 2021, 9:48AM Eastern]

Good morning! This is Steven Pittsley, another CORR chud and a member of the Three Percenters militia movement.

Content warning for the whole thread for misogyny, sexual violence, and general incel shit.

Of CORR’s organizers, Steven is one of the most open about his misogyny and violence. He is in the CORR organizers Telegram chat and has attended CORR meetings with Melissa Terra, the channel’s admin.

We threaded on Melissa Terra on Monday, including where she works:

And we’ve been threading on CORR (“Citizens Organized to Restore Rights”) since last week. The TL;DR is that they are “patriot” types who do security for other fashy groups, like Super Happy Fun America, and raise money for the “heroes of January 6”

In addition to his involvement with CORR, Steven is part of the Three Percenters, a right-wing militia movement with delusions of re-fighting the Revolutionary War. Here’s a quick overview from the @splcenter.

Steven uses the Threeper location format in his Telegram handle (MA-Z3L, “Massachusetts zone 3”). His Facebook banner makes his Threeper loyalty even more obvious:

With so many people in his profile pic, it can be hard to figure out which one is Steven. Fortunately, our dude also has a Twitter, which helps us narrow it down:

And here he is posting a lot of Threeper stuff on said Twitter:

From there we can find his YouTube channel, also under the name Steven Pittsley, which only has 2 subscribers and some dorky Airsoft videos. It is definitely the same guy, though.

Steven really loves guns. Like, a lot. His Facebook likes are full of guns, hot girls with guns, more guns, and… French bulldog Viking furry domination? We’re not 100% sure what we’re looking at here, to be honest

Steven is extremely worried that the encroaching government is going to take his lovely guns away, like they’ve definitely been on the brink of doing any minute now for decades (in the right-wing imagination):

In a very worrying combination, while Steven loves guns, he hates women. His posts are full of misogynistic rants, rape apologism, anti-abortion rhetoric, and angry incel bullshit:

The reason this is a worrying combination is that misogyny and mass shootings are closely intertwined. Most mass shooters have either a history of domestic violence or a history of being mad that they don’t have a girlfriend to commit DV upon (or both).

This connection between misogyny and mass shootings has been reported on fairly extensively in both academic journals and mainstream newspapers, but people seem to sort of forget about it between shootings.

Anyway, when he is not playing with guns or posting rape apologia online, Steven lives in Fall River, Massachusetts, where he installs pools and is careless about where he posts his phone number (why do they keep doing this?).

CORR’s founder David Steinhof is also based in Fall River, where he organizes out of his dental practice, nicknamed “Valley Forge.” We threaded on him and his domestic violence allegations last week:

CORR and their goons, like Steven, are coming up from Fall River this Sunday to bother Boston with a rally with Straight Pride jerkwads Super Happy Fun America, a group that features two January 6 arrestees in its leadership.

If you’d like to tell this whole load of violently misogynistic failsons to get the hell out of town, @Bos_Solidarity is leading the counterprotest at 11:30 a.m. on Boston Common: http://bit.ly/MaskUpNov7 See you there!

EDITOR’S NOTES – JANUARY 8TH, 2023: We apologize for omitting that Pittsley was charged for bomb threats under another name in 2017.

Joshua Mello

[originally published November 2, 2021, 9:14AM Eastern]

Meet Josh Mello, violent homophobe and owner of K’s Kustom’s in Warwick, RI!

Mugshot

Mello is an organizer with CORR, showing up to their demonstrations and food drives, making homophobic/transphobic speeches, and getting arrested for becoming violent at a middle school.

CORR, short for “Citizens Organized to Restore Rights,” is a far-right “patriot” movement with terrible graphic design sense that does “security” for other far-right groups, such as Super Happy Fun America. Their pet issues are COVID denialism and supporting police brutality.

We threaded a bit on CORR and their founder, alleged domestic abuser David Steinhof, last week:

Mello is all in on the COVID denialism! Here he is protesting the vaccine mandates in RI on Oct. 1, wearing the shirt he never changes and his favorite midlife crisis hat.

Mello is also incredibly homophobic and transphobic, calling lessons about LGBTQ perspectives/experiences “predatory” and a form of “gender war,” and schools that are supportive of their queer students “criminals.”

With those attitudes, it’s no wonder he’s teaming up with Super Happy Fun America, who have been pulling violent queerphobic bullshit in the area for years. Here’s @thatcaseyquin on their Straight Pride Parade.

Last month, Mello got so enraged that he got into a violent altercation at a middle school, where he was arrested and found to be in possession of 3 knives. Here he is appropriating BLM rhetoric about it.

Outraged at not being allowed to endanger schoolchildren, Mello did what he does best: Blame queer people. Here he is giving a statement about this altercation at a RI public input session at Harry Kizirian Elementary in Providence, in his midlife crisis hat and his CORR shirt.

In this impassioned speech, he blamed his violent behavior at a middle school on changing gender roles in families and “the schools indoctrinating our children with poison.” By poison we can safely assume he means the LGBTQ+ movement’s struggle for equality.

You can join him at his arraignment on 11/16/2021 at 9 a.m. at the 3rd Division district court in RI.

This isn’t the first time Mello has gotten in trouble for violence. In 2011, he was charged with 4th degree arson by the Kent County Court in RI.

And it happened just a month after his birthday. What a way to turn 35, buddy.

Explains the midlife crisis hat, though.

All this would be bad enough if Mello were just a lone kook throwing violent tantrums at middle schools, but in hooking up with CORR and SHFA—formerly “Resist Marxism”—he’s found some awful kindred spirits.

Here’s @DavidNeiwert on SHFA’s earlier incarnation’s history of violent tantrums, including in Mello’s home state of Rhode Island.

Since CORR didn’t exist yet, SHFA’s/Resist Marxism’s main partner organization for that rally was the now-infamous Proud Boys, who at the time were still pretending to be a drinking club. Here’s more on the Proud Boys from @AndyBCampbell.

We are sure Mello will fit right in with the SHFA losers and their constant lashing out about “gender madness,” or whatever hateful bile they’re spouting that actually makes queer people sound extra cool

If you want to DEFEND gender madness, OPPOSE anti-Semitic dogwhistles like “Cultural Marxism,” and DEFEAT local fascist groups like SHFA and CORR, turn out for Boston Solidarity Against Hate’s counterprotest to the above event in Boston Common at 11:30 a.m. on 11/7! http://bit.ly/MaskUpNOv7

As for Mello, well, don’t do your Christmas shopping at K’s Kustom’s Ride-On Toy Vehicles in Warwick.

Yes, that’s right: The guy that sets fires and blames his violence in front of children on the gays runs a toy repair shop.

You couldn’t make these people up.

Melissa M. Terra

Time to meet another core CORR organizer (lol), as promised. This is Melissa Terra, CORR’s Telegram admin!

Melissa works for Veterans Inc., a social service for veterans. You can call (508) 791-1213 ext. 1190 to ask HR why they are employing a pro-fascist COVID denier.

For new readers, CORR (Citizens Organized to Restore Rights) is a far-right “patriot” group that does “security” for other violent fascist groups, including Super Happy Fun America, and have been raising money for their “Heroes of January 6,” including two dipshits from SHFA.

For a review of SHFA’s history of violent and hateful targeting of marginalized groups, read @thatcaseyquin’s article on their Straight Pride Parade in 2019.

On May 27, 2021, the admin of the CORR Telegram channel, username Melissalovely, posted the picture in Tweet #1 to the channel.

This photo also Melissa Terra’s Facebook header, so we know we’ve got the right person.

She also has an unfortunate TikTok, if you want to listen to some anti-vax ranting and watch her try to turn the arrests of two other anti-mask weirdos, Kevin Mackie and Amanda Miller, into some sort of denier cause celebre.

In addition to running CORR’s social media, she has run for office alongside David Steinhof (fortunately, also unsuccessfully).

We threaded on David Steinhof, the founder of CORR, last week (as did Solidarity Against Hate Boston):

Terra is currently running for Somerset Board of Selectmen, so if you live in or know any folks in Somerset, please do what you can to ensure this “neutral candidate” (lol) does not get into office.

To recap, your action items are:
-Call Melissa Terra’s employer at (508) 791-1213 ext. 1190
-If you are in Somerset, keep her off the Board of Selectmen
-On Sunday, Nov. 7 at 11:30, show up at Boston Common for @Bos_Solidarity’s counterprotest: http://bit.ly/MaskUpNov7

EDITOR’S NOTES – JANUARY 8TH, 2023: We apologize for omitting that, by July 12th, 2021 and well before this thread had been posted, Melissa Terra had lost her Somerset Select Board campaign to Kathy Souza.

According to Melissa Terra’s LinkedIn profile, she is still employed at Veterans, Inc.

Katie E. Ferriera-Aubin

[originally published on October 29, 2021, 12:30PM Eastern]

Good morning! As promised, it’s time to meet another CORR organizer.

Say hello to Katie Ferriera-Aubin!

Katie compared mask mandates to the extermination of Jewish people in a now-deleted Tik Tok video while serving as a member of the School Committee in Dighton, MA.

In the video she gestures to the headline “COVID Certificate of Identification” and then points to a photo of a Nazi concentration camp survivors tattoo. She then says, “Same thing, different strategy!”

The Anti-Defamation League of New England denounced her post in a tweet:

In the same series of videos, she disparaged gender identity and compared vaccine mandates to Jim crow segregation.

She refused to apologize for her anti-Semitic posts: “When you explain things in that extreme, it does get people’s attention to kind of say, OK, maybe our freedoms are being taken away right now. So, sometimes you do have to use extremes to get attention. But I stand by it.”

She refused to apologize for her anti-Semitic posts: “When you explain things in that extreme, it does get people’s attention to kind of say, OK, maybe our freedoms are being taken away right now. So, sometimes you do have to use extremes to get attention. But I stand by it.”

Her Facebook is also full of posts upholding the “rights” of parents to give children and teachers the plague, and beefing with teachers unions:

If you wish to support teachers unions against the kinds of people who think that they have a God-given right to give children and teachers the plague, please show up on the common at 11:30 on November 7 to tell SHFA and CORR to get out! http://bit.ly/MaskUpNov7

David L. Steinhof

[originally published on October 28th, 2021, 9:01AM Eastern]

Hello Boston! Over the next few days, we’ll be introducing you to some of the organizers from CORR, the chuds rallying with SHFA on 11/7.

Let’s start with the most public one, founder David Steinhof, who Boston Solidarity Against Hate introduced y’all to yesterday:

David Steinhof is a failed politican who ran as the Republican candidate for the Bristol County MA House of Representatives and lost in 2014 and 2018.

He owns a dental practice in Fall River, MA, where a large portion of CORR organizing occurs, which the CORR organizers call “Valley Forge” (sigh) on their Telegram (Freedomlovingpatriot4life).

David also has a history of domestic violence, as summarized on the New England White Supremacists profile on him here.

Highlights include (CW: domestic violence, animal abuse):

-beating the family’s dogs with his fists “multiple times”
-throwing the cats across the room in front of his wife, their children and his staff
-throwing his wife against a kitchen counter and slamming her into a door

According to court records, Steinhof’s wife says he has punched through doors and walls at his home and office, and repeatedly assaulted her, on one occasion ripping out her earrings. She also said he punched and shattered the windshield of a car.

Steinhof and his group have been working with SHFA for several months. Here are him and his ugly hat with John Hugo and his ugly hat at the “Refounding Fathers Festival” in July:

And here is SHFA member and Capitol coup attempt participant Sue Ianni giving a talk at the CORR-organized “Freedomfest” in September. David Steinof and his ugly hat are circled in red. You can also see Hugo and his ugly hat on the left.

More on Sue Ianni, embarrassment to the fine town of Natick, MA, can be found here at Metrowest Daily News.

At both of SHFA’s summer events, CORR provided security. Some security members wore CORR shirts, as shown here. Other members were more normcore. More info on normcore can be found at http://gap.com.

CORR is also organizing in Rhode Island in addition to in our Commonwealth. Here is the flyer for their planned “Freedom March” in Pawtucket on Nov. 1, which illustrates both that graphic design is their passion and that they totally know what “without representation” means.

Between now and their “Rise Against Tyranny” rally on the 7th, we’ll be introducing you to some of their other organizers, and sadly, to more of their eye-bleeding and grammatically challenged graphics.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to clear your calendar for November 7, grab a mask and something to make noise with, and attend Boston Solidarity AgainsT Hate’s counterprotest. Details at http://bit.ly/MaskUpNov7
