Chris Bartley

Looks like Chris Bartley’s planning his grand re-entry to the Boston fash scene at Super Happy Fun America’s “Restore Sanity” rally on Saturday.

Let’s refresh our memories about why he sucks, and then we’ll make sure he feels very unwelcome this weekend.

Way back in the day (meaning in 2017), Bartley used to run with “Anticom,” the right-wing ripoff of “antifa,” which organizes* against communists.** Unicorn Riot has more here.

*organizes = fantasizes about killing
**communists = anyone left of Ronald Reagan

Boston Anticom’s biggest moment was when Bartley, along with former New England Patriot Front leader Chris Hood & unremarkable Anticom-turned-PF goon Matthias Thorpe, crashed Mark Bray’s event at the Harvard Coop, & Thorpe abjectly lost the fight he picked.

We’ve posted a bit on both Hood and Thorpe before, because they were part of the same Patriot Front crew that Noah Bogosh ran with, until Hood broke up the family by embezzling. Thread on them both here:

At the same time he was involved with “Anticom,” Bartley was also VP of the UMass Boston chapter of TPUSA, Charlie Kirk’s laughingstock of an astroturf organization. Here we see student-era Bartley posing with Resist Marxism founder Kyle “Based Stickman” Chapman.

Bartley was a regular at Resist Marxism’s events for about two years. Here he is at their violent disruption of the 2019 Women’s March, looking like the Michelin Man in a gray puff coat:

He definitely wasn’t there at random. You can spot him behind the Trump flag in this lineup, standing next to Michael Moura. Other notables in this photo include Mark Sahady (2nd from left), John Camden (in the middle, helmet), and Brandon Navom (right of Camden).

Also pictured: Bruce Burleson (far left), Mark Sahady (to the right of Burleson), Dan Gilby of the Patriot Saints (squatting to the left, helmet and III% patch), Michael Moura (second to Sahady’s direct right, red baseball cap and shades), Patrick Soutter (high center, behind Bartley), George Avery of American Guard RI (standing, center, to the right of Bartley), John Camden of American Guard NH (standing to the right of Avery, wearing a helmet and making the OK sign), Luke Ballesteros of AntiCom (squatting in the center, unmasked, below Avery), and Brandon Navom (standing to the right of Camden, beard, unmasked). The photo itself was likely taken by Grace Cook.

You can read more about that day here:

We threaded on Mike Moura (4th from left, red hat, douchey grin, standing right next to Bartley like they’re buddies) back on his birthday, because he is an abusive piece of shit.

On a lighter note, the hideous gray coat also made an appearance at the Berklee debate debacle (debatcle?) in December 2018. You can see Bartley chatting with some PF guys, even though Mark Sahady’s big dumb face blocks most of the shot.

There is no full documentation of just what a hilarious comedy of errors this “debate” was, but there’s a good summary in this article from Boston Solidarity Against Hate.

Bartley was last seen in the world of Boston fash organizing as the first “gay ambassador” to the Straight Pride Parade, about a year ago, when Resist Marxism rebranded into Super Happy Fun America. He was… not real good at his job.

Bartley dropped out about two months before the parade went off, to be replaced by Anthony Tamagna, and has spent most of the past year doing… well, we don’t really know, he wasn’t openly fashing so we left him alone! That’s the deal.

But now he is starting up with the fashing again, which brings us to Saturday, and Super Happy Fun America’s anti-BlackLivesMatter rally. Boston Solidarity Against Hate is hosting the counterdemo — will you be there to yell at Chris to fuck off back home?
